THURSDAY, NOV 19 - BOSWELL BOOK COMPANY
Boswell welcomes Wisconsin-based author Ty Landers for an launch event featuring his debut novel, Baby Queen. A woman returns home to take over her family's honey business, but then a body is discovered on the property, and three generations of women are forced to confront the secrets, betrayals, and buried crimes that haunt their family. Already in development at HBO, Lander's novel is something like Ozarks meets The Godfather.
When a queen bee can no longer do her job, the worker bees will kill her, producing a new baby queen. When a perfectly preserved but very dead body is found in a barrel of honey, and the town of Noccalula, Alabama, will never be the same. Full of secrets, murder, and Alabama fried frog legs, Baby Queen is a sharp-as-a-blade tale of family crime.
Dennis Lehane says: "A terrific debut. A taut, wholly unique thriller with great characters told with confidence and flair."
Ty Landers holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts from the UC, Riverside.
